“The title says it all. There is no false hope and statistics do not foretell the future. We all have the potential for self-induced healing. There is much to be learned from those who don’t die when they are supposed to, and both doctors and patients need to be aware of the lessons to be learned.”
—BERNIE SIEGEL , M.D. Author of Love, Medicine and Miracles and The Art of Healing

Inspiration for Hope Never Dies…

I remember, distinctly, when my father died of cancer in 1996, his doctor said – “We look at your father’s situation as terminal.” Shocking, devastating words. I felt helpless. My father died 6 weeks later.

As time went on, I wondered why some people “beat the odds” and lived many years past their dire prognosis. My curiosity led me to engage in deep research to ascertain whether there were safe, effective, evidence-based medical treatments and therapies, beyond the strict “standard of care”, that can extend lives, save lives and enhance the quality of life for those who are told to “get their affairs in order”.

In recent years I have met, interviewed and befriended many hundreds of people, at over 20 cancer conferences, nationwide, who are living life and thriving many years, some for decades, past their so-called expiration dates.

I wish I knew then, at the time of my father’s illness, what I know now. My deep investigation and research has resulted in Hope Never Dies, a book that I hope will contribute to helping and saving the lives of many people afflicted with this insidious disease.

“Rick Shapiro’s amazing book is a wonderful and important reference for anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer. It is a must read for everyone in the field of oncology, and all my patients, present and future. Read the stories and interviews, digest the material. Your life or that of someone you know may depend on it.”
